A nurse from an emergency clinic trust in the East Midlands is being encircled by help in the wake of standing in opposition to a bigoted rant he suffered from a patient at work.
Filipino staff nurse Aldarico Jr Velasco (presented above), of College Medical clinics of Derby and Burton NHS Establishment Trust, distributed a post on Twitter on 30 January laying out what had befallen him.
He wrote: “A patient just shouted at me and called me a f***ing Chinese c*nt. Work colleagues were quick to defend and rally behind me but man, it was sad."

At the hour of composing, in excess of 410,000 individuals had drawn in with the post, including thousands leaving messages of support.University Clinics of Derby and Burton's central attendant, Cathy Winfield, and clinical chief, Dr Magnus Harrison, delivered a joint explanation censuring the assault.
They said: "We were disheartened that Aldarico was the subject of racial maltreatment at work.
"It is horrifying that any patient or individual from the general population would loudly manhandle our staff.

"They have the right to be treated with deference and to have a sense of security in their workplace."
Sheila Marriott, provincial overseer of the Regal School of Nursing in the East Midlands, lauded Mr Velasco for standing up.
"Prejudice is detestable and nobody ought to be exposed to such loathsome conduct.
"Being a medical caretaker is genuinely and sincerely testing enough without managing occurrences of disdain.
"It says a lot for Aldarico that he has spoken about this involvement with a particularly estimated at this point ground-breaking way and I trust he feels upheld by his partners and we all who reject prejudice."
In a later post, Mr Velasco said the reaction he had gotten since approaching had left his "heart full" and he guaranteed that he would not be dissuaded by the assault.
He added: "I have been well and have confidence that the episode has not and won't influence at all the way I care for and treat our patients.
"All things considered, it has motivated me to work more earnestly and appreciate the integrity in everybody.
"While this has brought issues to light on a test we face as staff, I trust this has not debilitate individuals and hopeful people to proceed with the significant work that we do particularly in these difficult occasions."
